Steps to Obtaining a Real Estate Sales License
I. Complete a 90 Hour Course
II. Pass a School Examination
A. All classes must be completed prior to taking the school exam. B. The school exam is multiple-choice questions, with a 75% passing score. You must check-in 15 minutes early for your scheduled exam. Late arrivals will not be permitted to take the exam. You are given four (4) hours to complete the exam. C. Exam results are available for review at the school for students who receive scores greater than 65%.
D. Students with scores 65% or lower are encouraged to study before registering for another exam.
III. Course Completion Time Limit
A. All classes must be taken and students must have successfully passed the school exam within 6 months of the date of the first class attended.

ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE (ADRE) ANNOUNCES:
LICENSE EXAMINATION
Effective July 1, 2010, the Arizona Salesperson and Broker licensing Exam for real estate, cemetery and membership campground licenses will be administered by Pearson VUE at test sites in Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, and Yuma. The exact locations of these sites and testing times will be announced after June 25, 2010. The current exam vendor, Prometric, will hold examinations through June 30, 2010. As of June 22, 2010, Pearson VUE will start accepting examination registrations at (1-888-405-5776). Candidate Handbook available online at http://www.pearsonvue.com/az/realestate

· As of July 1, 2010, Pearson VUE will administer licensing tests which are scored on:
§ REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON
State Specific= 90 scored questions (+10 non-scored pretest questions)
National = 80 scored questions (+ 5 non-scored pretest questions)
§ REAL ESTATE BROKER
State Specific = 100 scored questions (10 non-scored pretest questions)
National = 80 scored questions (+5 non-scored pretest questions)
· From July 1, 2010 the National question bank will be from the Pearson VUE question bank. The National outline is posted on Pearson VUE’s website for Arizona, as well as www.azre.gov
· From July 1, 2010 until August 31, 2010, the AZ State Specific questions will be from the question bank that Prometrics has used in the past.
· As of September 1, 2010, the AZ State Specific questions will be questions based on the new Real Estate Salesperson and Broker Course outlines, and will have been reviewed by “Subject Matter Experts” from the Arizona real estate industry.
· Effective July 1, 2010, the Real Estate Salesperson exam will allow for a five hour seat time and the Real Estate Broker exam will allow for a five and half hour seat time.
Student must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled testing time and have their Prelicensure Education Certificate; (yellow forms received from your school), a current, valid and government-issued identification (driver's license, state-issued identification card, military identification card); it must have a current photo and your signature, the name on the identification must be the same as the name used to register for the exam (including designations such as "Jr." or "III"); and a 4-function calculator. Failure to provide appropriate identification at the time of the examination is considered a missed appointment.
Cancellation of State Exams are required within 3 days of testing or the charged fee will be collected and rescheduling will result in an additional fee.
V. "Bootcamp" Certification
A. After passing the school exam and prior to being licensed, the A.D.R.E. requires each student to attend a 6-hour course in contracts called "Introduction to Contract Writing" or "Bootcamp".
B. This course fulfills 3-hours of of Real Estate Legal Issues (L) and 3-hours of Contract Law (CL) renewal credits. Certification will be given at the end of class.

B. The following information will be required when applying for your license:
√ Prelicensure Education Certificate received from the school
√ 2 Examination Score Reports
√ Original Licensure Questionnaire
√ Fingerprints on an ADRE approved fingerprint card
√ "Bootcamp" completion certificate
√ To obtain an active license you must also present a hiring form provided by your broker. Your broker may obtain this form from the A.D.R.E. website at www.azre.gov
√ ADRE licensing fee is $160.00
